ABOUT THE SONG by Paul Noyola
Hypocrite was one of the first songs we wrote in the spring of 2005. Matt and Billy put the guitar and bass riffs together, and after hearing it, I knew this was the tune to vent my distain for the way some people can be unhonorable liars. I hate the way some people use others to gain what they want - telling you what they know you want to hear, and then when they use them up, they are through with them. This song is for all the people that don't have enough integrity or self esteem to have their own views or opinions about things, and then stand by those views or opinions when they are contested or can't remember what lies they tell from from day to day. I think I expressed my feelings about that type of person in this song - If you are not one of these people, then you know one - or you work for or with one.

Grady joined the band after I had written the lyrics and Matt & Billy had written the main guitar and bass part, and when we played it for Grady that first time, Grady knew just what we all wanted from the song, polishing the tune off with an unconventional beat, with an almost 'hip-hop" feel.
